You see, growing up in the Midwest created a tremendous passion for the great outdoors. Hunting, fishing, camping and hiking…it’s in our blood… it’s what we live every day. That November morning, we crossed several creeks on our hike in. Once we arrived at our hunting location, we both realized we were doomed with the falling temperatures, as we had acquired wet feet due to leaks in our boots. It was at this moment, atop that ridge, that we realized we needed to live our passion in another way. In a way that would not only help us, but help others who loved and enjoyed the outdoors as much as we do. On that year, the TideWe brand was born, an outdoors brand dedicated to equipping outdoor enthusiasts with quality products that you can trust to get the job done no matter where your adventure takes you.

Quick ViewOur story begins on Neo’s 20th birthday, many years ago. Cherie gifted Neo a handmade wooden shop kit as a birthday present. They spent the whole afternoon working on the wooden shop kit in the university library. They had to concentrate and use all of their patience and attention to detail, but they loved every minute of it. After graduation, Neo worked as a banker and Cherie worked as a lawyer. They were happy with their lives, but they still had a dream they wanted to bring to life. When Cherie fell pregnant, they decided to create a toy brand as a memorable gift for their beloved daughter who would soon be born. Tiny Land came to life in Grandpa’s garage as a way to share our love of traditional wooden toys with children from all walks of life. We designed every conventional wooden toy for a kid: a wooden play kitchen, a teepee play tent, and a whole host of other creations. Before long, we were getting messages from loving parents who couldn’t believe how their child’s imagination was coming to life.

Ackermann Maple Farm- We first started our little sugaring operation in 2013, when we were full of ambition to make something off the land and determined to work for ourselves. We’ve since grown our business to 10,000 maple trees on 148 acres, and make roughly 5,000 gallons of maple syrup every spring.

In the fall of 2012, Ian and Caitlin Ackermann enlisted the help of their family and friends to construct the sugar shack using wood sustainably harvested and milled by Ian himself. There, the sap that flows from just over 6,400 trees is heated using a natural wood fire, evaporating the water from the sap and drawing out the pronounced natural maple flavor Vermont is known for. Since the ages of 20 and 24, they have worked to promote Ackermann Maple Farm. The syrup is bottled and sealed in glass containers by Caitlin and Ian themselves so that they can assess and assure the quality of each bottle shipped. Glass containers are better for the environment and better preserve the syrup than their plastic counterpart for an increased shelf life.

The data centre facility contains a VESDA (Very early smoke detection apparatus) fire detection system to help avoid fire and ultimatley service disruption. This is coupled with an FM200 gas based fire retardant that is environmentally friendly to put out fires instantly without damaging equipment. To provide maximum security, the data center is located within a secure compound consisting of perimeter fencing, electric gate entry, and a gatehouse which is manned 24/7 365 days a year by security personnel. Strict access controls are operational within the data center. The building is equipped with proximity access card readers and secure lockable racks to prevent unauthorized access to the data center and equipment.
