When searching for pet insurance for our two dogs, Luke and Summer, we were frustrated with the unpredictable and costly premiums and the lack of flexibility to remove or add coverage as needed. Our friends and family had similar experiences, and we were surprised how limited the options were for quality coverage that was also affordable. It turns out, millions of pet owners across the US felt the same way as us. Most pet parents can’t afford to pay high vet bills out of pocket. We started Odie Pet Insurance to provide them with an alternative option. By taking three generations of our family’s specialty insurance knowledge and designing a pet insurance program in-house, we were able to directly work with our underwriters, carrier partners, and customers to create a more simple, authentic, and community-driven pet insurance product at an accessible price.

Originally called Brookhaven Sporting Goods, eFootwear has been a Delaware County fixture since 1982. With all his savings and a lot of hard work, John Elison Sr. opened a little “hole in the wall” sneaker store on Dutton Mill Road. Working full time for Conrail, John worked nights and weekends selling sneakers. In the beginning, it was tough for John and his wife, Theresa. The little “sneaker store” (as it came to be known by area residents) was minimal inside and out. A fresh coat of paint, a patchwork of remnant, carpeting on the floor and wooden shelves, built by John himself, was all there was to the store, but it worked! His philosophy was simple: buy the building cheap, fix it up to be functional, not fancy, and sell popular brands at competitive prices. With his savings, he bought the building, fixed it up himself and worked it by himself and his wife. There were no loans taken out and certainly no government help to get him started. His philosophy along with his determination and hard work paid off!

Ackermann Maple Farm- We first started our little sugaring operation in 2013, when we were full of ambition to make something off the land and determined to work for ourselves. We’ve since grown our business to 10,000 maple trees on 148 acres, and make roughly 5,000 gallons of maple syrup every spring.
Quick ViewAckermann Maple Farm knows that quality syrup is crafted from Vermont’s sugar maples.  In the fall of 2012, Ian and Caitlin Ackermann enlisted the help of their family and friends to construct the sugar shack using wood sustainably harvested and milled by Ian himself. There, the sap that flows from just over 6,400 trees is heated using a natural wood fire, evaporating the water from the sap and drawing out the pronounced natural maple flavor Vermont is known for. Since the ages of 20 and 24, they have worked to promote Ackermann Maple Farm. The syrup is bottled and sealed in glass containers by Caitlin and Ian themselves so that they can assess and assure the quality of each bottle shipped. Glass containers are better for the environment and better preserve the syrup than their plastic counterpart for an increased shelf life.

The unexpected disruption caused by the virus forced us to retreat into the confines of our homes and this sudden change to our once organized lives brought about a whirlpool of emotions, the most common was the sense of insecurity.

So, people began to explore new ways of taking a break; Outdoor adventures leading to a surge in popularity of nearby parks, local nature reserves, backyard camping, as well as RV holidays and camping trips gained traction which were a much needed relief to our daily homestay.

The datacentre guarantee all customers a redundant high-capactity, stable and reliable power supply which can easily be scaled to support any future expansion. All power feeds are isolated between racks with regular checks and maintained to ensure stability. The data centre also boasts high specification uninterruptable power supply units to maintain power to the entire building in the event of a mains grid failure with backup on-site diesel generators for extended periods. To ensure optimum performance, all data floors are maintained at a constant 21°C ± 2°C and relative humidity is kept at 50% ± 10%. Both are continually monitored electronically and will alert on-site staff upon thresholds being surpassed. The data centre facility contains a VESDA (Very early smoke detection apparatus) fire detection system to help avoid fire and ultimatley service disruption. This is coupled with an FM200 gas based fire retardant that is environmentally friendly to put out fires instantly without damaging equipment. To provide maximum security, the data center is located within a secure compound consisting of perimeter fencing, electric gate entry, and a gatehouse which is manned 24/7 365 days a year by security personnel. Strict access controls are operational within the data center. The building is equipped with proximity access card readers and secure lockable racks to prevent unauthorized access to the data center and equipment.
